That’s why we’ve developed a full suite of charging options and supporting technologies to provide a convenient and comprehensive charging experience. This includes access to our BlueOvalTM Charge Network that now has over 1,300 charging stations across Ireland, including high-speed IONITY stations.

  • IMPROVED PERFORMANCE AND LOWER FUEL BILLS

    Hybrid and electric vehicles typically offer a smoother, quieter, more enjoyable drive, without compromising performance.

    The overall cost of owning a hybrid or electric vehicle can be lower as well. Outstanding efficiency can mean less money spent on fuel, they tend to be cheaper to maintain, and are often eligible for tax incentives and government grants too.

    An all-electric vehicle runs on battery power alone. That means there’s zero fuel, and zero emissions on the road. With government incentives, reduced road tax, and lower servicing costs, they’re good for your wallet as well as the environment.

  • PLUG-IN HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (PHEV)

    A plug-in hybrid, also known as a PHEV, uses a combination of a petrol engine and a large electric battery. These vehicles can complete short journeys on electric power alone, or combine petrol with electric power to maximise efficiency on every drive.

    Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV) have all the functionality of full Hybrid technology, with the added advantage that they can be charged from an external electricity supply. The larger capacity of the battery makes them capable of zero-emissions while driving for ranges up to 64 kilometres, with the ability to switch to Hybrid mode to conserve battery life and to petrol or diesel-only for longer journeys.

    A Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), also known as a self-charging hybrid, uses a combination of electric power and a traditional combustion engine. Its large battery supports the engine to improve efficiency and enables the car to complete short journeys on electric power alone, although its electric-only driving range isn’t as far as a plug-in hybrid vehicle.

    Hybrid Electric Vehicles can switch seamlessly between engine only, electric, or combined engine and electric propulsion, according to driving conditions. This means the vehicle complete short journeys with zero emissions and maximise efficiency on longer drives.

  • MILD HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE

    A Mild Hybrid Vehicle (mHEV) incorporates a small electric motor and battery to help improve the engine’s power and efficiency. An mHEV can’t be driven on electric power alone, but provides additional support to the engine, helping to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emission figures.

    The internal combustion engine is assisted by an electric motor. At low speed, or when stationary, the engine can switch itself off and the 48V starter-generator seamlessly restarts when needed. The separate 48V Li-ion battery is automatically recharged by regenerative braking during coasting and braking.

Want to make charging your all-electric vehicle at home as fast as possible? The range of Ford wall boxes can assist. With the help of one of our expert partners, we can help you arrange the installation of a higher power Wallbox at home. A Ford Wallbox offers faster charging times versus charging via conventional plug sockets, getting your all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle back on the road as soon as you need it.

Our BlueOval™ Charge Network gives you access to over 1,400 conveniently located charging stations across Ireland, including high-speed IONITY stations, EBS, ePower, ChargePoint and EV-Box charging points.   • WHAT AFFECTS DRIVING RANGE?

    Just like other cars, there are things that affect the achievable driving range of an electric vehicle. For example, the Mustang Mach-E is available in a choice of powertrain and battery size options, with the RWD extended range model being capable of up to 600 km*. Other factors that may affect range include outside temperature, load weight, and driving style.

    *Based on full charge. Estimated range using Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) applies to AWD model with extended range battery. Actual range varies with conditions such as external elements, driving behaviours, vehicle maintenance, and lithium-ion battery age.
